//SUNDAYS SEVEN – CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE//

Instead of my usual SUNDAYS SEVEN I decided to write up a weekly Christmas gift guide all the way up to Christmas. I will include small independent boutiques as well as my favourite high street shops. It will be a broad range of everything and for everyone.

  1. First one up is this gorgeous small jewellery box. What a great gift for any girl or woman! My jewellery is always crammed and tangled up somewhere in the suitcase and this is just perfect!

2. “Minimum effort, maximum flavour” – I have The Green Roasting Tin book in my cooking book collection and use it all the time for recipe ideas.

3. What a beautiful coffee table book for any adventurer, 150 cities from A to Z in one band. The newest collection from the best-selling New York Times 36 Hours series.

4. A Ceramic Aroma Diffuser is always such a lovely gift.

5. A cashmere scarf is a great gift for him and her, old and young!

6. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a gift that could be more versatile then this. This beaded garland could go from a babies nursery decoration all the way through childhood teepee tent accessory to a lovely Christmas decoration memory.

7. If anybody wants to send me a gift, that would be it! I am sucker for beautiful candles!

8. Here We Are. This beautifully illustrated picture book will help little ones to understand the wonders of the world.

9. What a beautiful addition to any drink cart.

10. A personalised silver keyring from a local company close to my heart. I saw them growing from a tiny little corner shop to this great company and hope they survive this difficult times.

May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve. Giving is such a wonderful thing and definitely my favourite. I hope you have the most wonderful festive season.

Love, Lena

There is nothing better than snuggling into cosiest loungewear when coming home from work. Well, and with the current lockdown we can basically just live in our cosies, just throw your oversized coat over for the school run…I’ve scrolled through various high street online shops and picked out my top 10!

  1. The softest fleece hoodie and joggers in all 3 colours please!

2. Oh, I do love a jumpsuit and this one I would even wear when travelling (whenever that will be again…)

3. Just what you want for lounging around!

4. I love the long hoodie and I love this simple but quirky print! Winner!

5. Navy is always just beautiful!!! And the joggers even come in short, regular or long.

6. Well, my beloved H&M and their beautiful loungewear sets…

7. Those wide leg knitted trousers are just a dream…

8. 100% Merino wool leggings and t-shirt?! Yes, please!

9. Love this colour and the side split!

// COLOUR COMBINATIONS //

Nothing gives me more “fashion happiness” than a colourful and perfectly curated outfit. Fashion is one of the purest expressions of art, because it is art lived on a daily basis. I love following all the street-style bloggers and seek inspirations and ideas from their style. Here are a few examples, some of the colours are so far away from each other if you follow the rainbow reel, but put together they look like a perfect match.

Although we see beautiful colour combinations all around us (just look outside your window), we often find it difficult to transfer it into an outfit. Pairing colours can either make or break an outfit, so it is very natural that we feel a little uneasy when experimenting with new tones and combinations. My Pinterest board is full of ideas and pins of Streetstyle bloggers and their colourful outfits, but my main inspirations I find on the following board where I keep adding pins to the collection. These nature inspired colour reels will help you to wear bold colours without clashing and further down you will find some perfect examples.

And here are some great examples…

I hope I could inspire you to some colour combinations. Keep it simple but don’t be afraid of colour. Leave me a message and let me know how you feel about mixing tones and please tag me in pictures if you create any outfits.

What I am loving, wearing or adding to my wish list right now…

All I am thinking about on these rainy and gloomy days, is how to keep warm! In our monthly collaboration with @prettytatythings we covered all the winter basics which you should have in your wardrobe to keep you warm.

  1. Plain strappy tops:

2. Full slip shape wear

3. Body sensor tights:

4. Plain polo neck top (comes in various colours):

5. The perfect long-sleeved bodycon dress:

6. Probably the best jacket out there and this colour is just amazing…

7. My absolute favourite beanie hat!

8. A scarf the size of a blanket!

9. Probably the best slippers ever invented!

10. Sheepskin insoles for all your boots and welly boots:

11. These boots were around when I was a child, a teenager, a 20-nager and a 30-nager. This is a classic!

That’s it from me for this weeks SUNDAYS SEVEN.

I hope you like my basic selection. Leave a message and let me know what you would like me to talk about next week.

// PRETTIEST KNITTED DRESSES //

I was thinking long and hard about this weeks blog topic. Some of us are already stuck at home, others are still lucky enough to go out and see people, but the question is for how long… so instead of spending money on fancy outfits, I think we can all invest into comfortable knitted dresses. At least that will be an item we will all be wearing should we go into lockdown again. Here is a selection of my favourite pieces…

What I am loving, wearing or adding to my wish list right now…

These are my favourite seven pieces for this week. All of these items together would make a perfect every day outfit.

  1. Living in long sleeves all winter (under dresses, knits, jumpers) and these pure wool slim fit ones are my favourites.

2. Another absolute winder must-have (I treat myself every winter to one!) is a cashmere jumper and I love the M&S Pure Cashmere Crew Neck Jumper the most.

3. Loooooove these chunky soled leather shoes! First outfit which comes to my mind is a heavy knit with a checked mini skirt, chunky wool socks and those shoes!

4. Can we ever have enough faux fur coats in winter???!!! I have this same one in brown which I bought last winter and absolutely love wrapping up in it.

5. Teddy bear alert!!! The cutest aviator teddy coat ever!

6. A colourful scarf can always make your outfit pop and add the finishing touches to it. These colour block scarves are just beautiful!

7. Last but not least, I always get asked about my absolute favourite jeans and this straight leg jeans would probably be my number one choice!

That’s it from me for this weeks SUNDAYS SEVEN.

I hope you like my selection. Leave a message and let me know what you would like me to talk about next week.

// WARDROBE RESET //

Autumn and spring are the perfect times to sort out and reset our wardrobes whilst we switch our seasonal clothes. In the following blog post I have created a 10-point checklist to organise and create an enjoyable working wardrobe.

  1. First and probably one of the most important points for me is to have completely matching hangers. I prefer velour non-slip hangers as they have a thin design, look classy and as the name already says are anti slip. You can buy them anywhere really, I have these ones and am pretty happy with the quality.

2. Organise your wardrobe by type and colour. My wardrobe is not big at all, but I divided it into the following sections: short sleeve tops, long sleeve tops and blouses, skirts, trousers, dresses, cardigans, blazers. All my jeans, knitwear, t-shirts and yoga pants are folded in drawers. My belts are hanging on command hooks on the inside door of my wardrobe. There are so many different YouTube videos on how to organise your wardrobe depending on the size and space, but organising it by type and colour definitely gives you the overview what you have and what is missing.

3. Create a little storage basket full of closet essentials like scissors, double sided tape, fabric shaver (I have this Philips one and am quite happy with it), Lint roller, Instant stain remover pen, a travel sewing kit for little repairs like a loose button etc. and anything else you would need. By having it all in one place you definitely win time when getting ready.

4. Well, and as we talk about storage baskets, let’s add another little one for all your handbag essentials filled with the day to day things. It will make it easy to empty your contents, sort them out and switch to a different bag.

5. Draw organisers for your socks, underwear, tights etc.!!! IKEA has been famous for the best draw organisers, but if your next IKEA store is as far as mine then these ones are pretty good, too.

6. Organise your jewellery and get rid of EVERYTHING you never wear. We tend to collect many pieces over the years but probably wear only 20% of the whole collection. Sell them on, give them to your family, friends or charity. Just make space in the mess and create an overview.

7. Organise your shoes. Get rid of all the shoes you don’t wear anymore. If you haven’t worn them in the past 2 years, the chances that you will ever wear them again are pretty much zero. Again, create a little box (it can be an old shoe box) with some shoe care essentials like shoe polish, protection spray, baby powder to remove smell and dump inside the shoe, heel cushions, anti slip shoe stickers, blister plasters.

8. Have a special place/ hook for your outfit of the day! Putting together the night before what you will wear the next day will save you an enormous amount of time and keep your stress level down! I promise you, its worth it!!!

9. A perfect spot or a tray for your last touches like perfume, lip balm, deodorant and everything you would need just before you go out.

10. Last but definitely not least (in fact it should be the first point), buy a full length mirror!!! It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or expensive. IKEA offers a great range of affordable mirrors.

I really hope these 10 points will help you to organise your closet and have fun with fashion. If you need any more advice or help, please feel free to contact me via email or my Instagram account.
