// COUSY LOUNGEWEAR //

There is nothing better than snuggling into cosiest loungewear when coming home from work. Well, and with the current lockdown we can basically just live in our cosies, just throw your oversized coat over for the school run…I’ve scrolled through various high street online shops and picked out my top 10!

  1. The softest fleece hoodie and joggers in all 3 colours please!

2. Oh, I do love a jumpsuit and this one I would even wear when travelling (whenever that will be again…)

3. Just what you want for lounging around!

4. I love the long hoodie and I love this simple but quirky print! Winner!

5. Navy is always just beautiful!!! And the joggers even come in short, regular or long.

6. Well, my beloved H&M and their beautiful loungewear sets…

7. Those wide leg knitted trousers are just a dream…

8. 100% Merino wool leggings and t-shirt?! Yes, please!

9. Love this colour and the side split!

10. Last but not least, this is such a pretty set and is definitely in my top 3!

// COLOUR COMBINATIONS //

Nothing gives me more “fashion happiness” than a colourful and perfectly curated outfit. Fashion is one of the purest expressions of art, because it is art lived on a daily basis. I love following all the street-style bloggers and seek inspirations and ideas from their style. Here are a few examples, some of the colours are so far away from each other if you follow the rainbow reel, but put together they look like a perfect match.

Although we see beautiful colour combinations all around us (just look outside your window), we often find it difficult to transfer it into an outfit. Pairing colours can either make or break an outfit, so it is very natural that we feel a little uneasy when experimenting with new tones and combinations. My Pinterest board is full of ideas and pins of Streetstyle bloggers and their colourful outfits, but my main inspirations I find on the following board where I keep adding pins to the collection. These nature inspired colour reels will help you to wear bold colours without clashing and further down you will find some perfect examples.

And here are some great examples…

I hope I could inspire you to some colour combinations. Keep it simple but don’t be afraid of colour. Leave me a message and let me know how you feel about mixing tones and please tag me in pictures if you create any outfits.

What I am loving, wearing or adding to my wish list right now…

All I am thinking about on these rainy and gloomy days, is how to keep warm! In our monthly collaboration with @prettytatythings we covered all the winter basics which you should have in your wardrobe to keep you warm.

  1. Plain strappy tops:

2. Full slip shape wear

3. Body sensor tights:

4. Plain polo neck top (comes in various colours):

5. The perfect long-sleeved bodycon dress:

6. Probably the best jacket out there and this colour is just amazing…

7. My absolute favourite beanie hat!

8. A scarf the size of a blanket!

9. Probably the best slippers ever invented!

10. Sheepskin insoles for all your boots and welly boots:

11. These boots were around when I was a child, a teenager, a 20-nager and a 30-nager. This is a classic!

// PRETTIEST KNITTED DRESSES //

I was thinking long and hard about this weeks blog topic. Some of us are already stuck at home, others are still lucky enough to go out and see people, but the question is for how long… so instead of spending money on fancy outfits, I think we can all invest into comfortable knitted dresses. At least that will be an item we will all be wearing should we go into lockdown again. Here is a selection of my favourite pieces…

// SUNDAY SEVEN //

What I am loving, wearing or adding to my wish list right now…

These are my favourite seven pieces for this week. All of these items together would make a perfect every day outfit.

  1. Living in long sleeves all winter (under dresses, knits, jumpers) and these pure wool slim fit ones are my favourites.

2. Another absolute winder must-have (I treat myself every winter to one!) is a cashmere jumper and I love the M&S Pure Cashmere Crew Neck Jumper the most.

3. Loooooove these chunky soled leather shoes! First outfit which comes to my mind is a heavy knit with a checked mini skirt, chunky wool socks and those shoes!

4. Can we ever have enough faux fur coats in winter???!!! I have this same one in brown which I bought last winter and absolutely love wrapping up in it.

5. Teddy bear alert!!! The cutest aviator teddy coat ever!

6. A colourful scarf can always make your outfit pop and add the finishing touches to it. These colour block scarves are just beautiful!

7. Last but not least, I always get asked about my absolute favourite jeans and this straight leg jeans would probably be my number one choice!

That’s it from me for this weeks SUNDAYS SEVEN.

I hope you like my selection. Leave a message and let me know what you would like me to talk about next week.

// WARDROBE RESET //

Autumn and spring are the perfect times to sort out and reset our wardrobes whilst we switch our seasonal clothes. In the following blog post I have created a 10-point checklist to organise and create an enjoyable working wardrobe.

  1. First and probably one of the most important points for me is to have completely matching hangers. I prefer velour non-slip hangers as they have a thin design, look classy and as the name already says are anti slip. You can buy them anywhere really, I have these ones and am pretty happy with the quality.

2. Organise your wardrobe by type and colour. My wardrobe is not big at all, but I divided it into the following sections: short sleeve tops, long sleeve tops and blouses, skirts, trousers, dresses, cardigans, blazers. All my jeans, knitwear, t-shirts and yoga pants are folded in drawers. My belts are hanging on command hooks on the inside door of my wardrobe. There are so many different YouTube videos on how to organise your wardrobe depending on the size and space, but organising it by type and colour definitely gives you the overview what you have and what is missing.

3. Create a little storage basket full of closet essentials like scissors, double sided tape, fabric shaver (I have this Philips one and am quite happy with it), Lint roller, Instant stain remover pen, a travel sewing kit for little repairs like a loose button etc. and anything else you would need. By having it all in one place you definitely win time when getting ready.

4. Well, and as we talk about storage baskets, let’s add another little one for all your handbag essentials filled with the day to day things. It will make it easy to empty your contents, sort them out and switch to a different bag.

5. Draw organisers for your socks, underwear, tights etc.!!! IKEA has been famous for the best draw organisers, but if your next IKEA store is as far as mine then these ones are pretty good, too.

6. Organise your jewellery and get rid of EVERYTHING you never wear. We tend to collect many pieces over the years but probably wear only 20% of the whole collection. Sell them on, give them to your family, friends or charity. Just make space in the mess and create an overview.

7. Organise your shoes. Get rid of all the shoes you don’t wear anymore. If you haven’t worn them in the past 2 years, the chances that you will ever wear them again are pretty much zero. Again, create a little box (it can be an old shoe box) with some shoe care essentials like shoe polish, protection spray, baby powder to remove smell and dump inside the shoe, heel cushions, anti slip shoe stickers, blister plasters.

8. Have a special place/ hook for your outfit of the day! Putting together the night before what you will wear the next day will save you an enormous amount of time and keep your stress level down! I promise you, its worth it!!!

9. A perfect spot or a tray for your last touches like perfume, lip balm, deodorant and everything you would need just before you go out.

10. Last but definitely not least (in fact it should be the first point), buy a full length mirror!!! It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or expensive. IKEA offers a great range of affordable mirrors.

I really hope these 10 points will help you to organise your closet and have fun with fashion. If you need any more advice or help, please feel free to contact me via email or my Instagram account.

As most of my go to shops are offering a mid season sale, I thought I will post my favourite sale pieces. I absolutely love all of these and hope you like them too.

  1. Heeled Leather Square Toe Sandals are here to stay and burgundy is probably my new favourite colour of the season. With 51% off, you can’t go wrong…

2. Beautiful classic leather bag that you will keep and use for years on end.

3. These earrings remind me of the blue Mediterranean Sea and our summer holidays! They also come in red if you want a more festive look.. Total boho vibes.

4. This gorgeous dress has a massive discount on it (you can also save an extra 20% with code 20EXTRA). Dress it down with a chunky knit and boots for every day life or dress it up with heels and beautiful jewellery for Christmas Day.

5. Yes, I am still obsessed with straps leather sandals and they are definitely here to stay. These ones are 50% off!!!!!

6. How cool is this jumper?! Style it with leather trousers, leggings, shorts or skirt.

7. If you liked shoulder pad t-shirts this summer, then you will love the transition into this shoulder pad shirt. Going by the latest fashion week videos, we are going from basic shoulder pads to Star Trek style shoulder pads!!

What I am loving, wearing or adding to my wish list right now…

  1. First up is this beauty of a slightly oversized cashmere jumper. I wanted to buy a cashmere sweater for so so long but the price tag did scare me. When my girlfriends gave me a voucher for my birthday, I thought straight away that I will invest it in a cashmere piece. And here we go, proud and happy owner wearing my jumper last Friday.

2. An absolute classic! Goes with everything, on sale and in all sizes available! Get it or regret it!

3. I love a chain necklace, especially in winter when you can wear it over all knits.

4. Obsessed doesn’t even come close! Love love love!!!

5. Now as I have picked so many pieces from Mango, let me tell you what I discovered this week. There is an actual Mango Outlet website with all previous seasons picks for a fraction of the price!

https://www.mangooutlet.com

6. Another newly discovered favourite: Turmeric Latte! So good for you, yummy and easy to make… Turmeric derives its medicinal superpowers from the compound curcumin, which has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may be beneficial for digestion, detoxification, and pain relief. There are no side effects of drinking turmeric milk daily.

  • 350ml almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • grind of black pepper

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and whisk constantly over a gentle heat, ideally with a milk frother if you have one. Once hot, pour into mugs and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon to serve.

7. What a magical book! It takes you on an imaginary journey of something extraordinary special! Erin Morgenstern writes scenes you can smell, feel the temperature of and see in full picture. It’s just wonderful!

That’s it from me for this weeks SUNDAYS SEVEN.

I hope you like my little selection and this slightly different topic at the end. Leave a message and let me know what you would like me to talk about next week.

What I am loving, wearing or adding to my wish list right now…

  1. As promised in my Instagram Stories, this week its all about health hacks I have been following for decades…
Starting off this weeks SUNDAYS SEVEN with something I just can not live without! I use it on my face every morning and night (mixed with my daily face creams), I use it on my daughters skin when her eczema flares up, hair masks, nails etc. It is just brilliant. Apart from giving you a nice glow and subtle tan effect, it is also an anti-aging solution. Tried, tested and approved on myself!

2. Tongue Scraper! Scraping our tongues became an important part of our morning routine. It removes bad breath and all the toxins which developed over night. It improves the sense of taste and natural anti-bacterial effect due to the natural anti-bacterial properties of copper.

3. Toothpaste! I love this toothpaste brand, especially the charcoal natural toothpaste for whitening, strengthening and restoring the enamel. Charcoal has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, removes dental plague and protects from tooth decay. In between I also use my homemade toothpaste for exactly the same reasons made out of pure cold pressed coconut oil and turmeric powder (50/50 mixture).

4. Activated charcoal! It is not something I take every day, but I have it in my cupboards for days when I feel bloated, after overeating, for hangover cure (or prevention), upset stomachs or heart burn. It works by trapping toxins and chemicals in the gut, preventing their absorption.

5. Lavender sleep spray is just magical for grown ups and children. I grow lavender in my garden and also dry and collect it in hessian bags and just lie them around rooms or in wardrobes. It smells lovely, sets the right atmosphere for relaxation and keeps moths away.

6. Speaking about relaxation. I love my Himalayan Pink Crystal Salt Lamp. It has so many benefits but my favourite one is the stress release and pure relaxation mode as soon as it is on. I am aiming to have one in every room one day.

7. Kombucha! Every single day! I just love it so much and it is so good for your gut! Ultimately we are what they eat and with they I mean our gut microbes (if you are interested in our body’s microbes, then read 10% Human). (I also like to drink my gin with Kombucha instead of tonic). It’s all about the balance, right?!

That’s it from me for this weeks SUNDAYS SEVEN.

// AUTUMN DRESSES //

Autumn is literally on our door steps! I am not entirely sure if I am ready for the cold and short days yet, but I am looking forward to snuggle up on the sofa and watch Netflix non-stop. Here are some autumn dresses, which would look great with knee high boots, ankle boots, chunky boots and trainers. Well, and obviously layered up with cardigans, jumpers and coats. (Click on the pictures for the product links.)

I love this Puff Sleeve Midi dress. Such a beautiful and timeless print!
Another beautiful number by & Other Stories. Definitely would wear this dress with chunky boots and chunky cardigan.
Zebra print is big this season and this M&S Shirt Dress is just perfect.
OMG! If this dress is not pure cosiness then what is?! Add a chunky leather jacket, big scarf and chunky boots! School run ready!!!
Now I would not say, that this is an Autumn dress, but I love styling up summer dresses with boots (like in the picture), knits and leather jackets. And I really like the happy and colourful print of this dress.
What a beautiful print! I would wear this dress with cream/white boots and a trench coat! This dress could definitely become a staple piece in your wardrobe.
First of all, this dress comes in so many colours!!! Its cute but also cool. Wear it with chunky boots and an oversized cardigan. This one is definitely on my shopping list!
Very cute Autumn dress. Wear either with oversized knit or leather jacket and boots.
Now it wouldn’t be Autumn, if we wouldn’t get all out leather/pleather clothes out! I have a great collection myself and keep adding to it every year. I love this frog green colour (comes also in black) and I love the shirt dress style!
Oh French Connection is my guilty pleasure when it comes to dresses, because they always fit just perfect!!! This dress comes in 3 different colours and will take you all the way through till next summer and beyond!
I know, this is not an Autumn dress, BUT it is on sale and it is just gorgeous!!! If you have a little spare cash left, get it for next summer, you will not regret it!!!

  1. How cool is the Accordion fold bag. Its the perfect mix between a bucket bag and a shopper. I like!!!

2. Chains are everywhere this season, bags, necks, sunglasses and ears. Loving those chain earrings a lot.

3. Thank me later!!! This is THE jacket for winter. Its ultra light, folds into the tiniest ball and is super warm! I finally managed to get hold of this jacket as its always sold out! I will be wearing mine under knits, under trench coats, blazers etc…Roll on winter!

4. Love them or hate them, but sweatpants are THE must-have piece this season. I really like the colour of this NEW ARRIVAL combo.

5. How cute is this cardigan! Love the mushroom colour and its premium quality!!!

6. Istagram account to follow: @alexandrapereira – I am really enjoying Alexandras account at the moment. Travel, fashion, fitness, food – a good all rounder!

7. Last but not least…this book really did sort out my PMS and helped me to understand my body and mood swings. It is a must read for every woman and every mother of girls! Get is as a hard copy as you will want to return to it throughout different stages of your life.

What I am loving, wearing or adding to my wish list right now…

  1. I do not know many people who don’t like Birkenstocks…Currently I am lusting over these Arizona Two Strap Black Eva sandals…Aren’t they just chic?!

2. Still holding onto that summer and fun colourful nails

3. Love at first sight! Shame I did not have this Palma Fan Clutch for our holidays in Mallorca, I would have worn it every day! And the best thing is, this beautiful detachable tassel keychain is included.

4. 10% Human! What a great book! I could not recommend it enough. I am half way through and just don’t want it to end. So educational and interesting! If you want to learn about your gut, immune system, vaccinations etc, then this book is for you!

5. I do love everything about Karl Lagerfeld and bought myself this lipstick last year to try it out. It is the perfect red and it is very long-lasting. I totally recommend it.

6. I wrote a whole blog post about scarves and how to wear them. There will never be enough in my collection as I see them as kind of collectable art. Here is my current favourite from & other stories.

7. H&M did it again! Just look at those boots. About 10 times cheaper than the original Bottega LUG BOOTS, but still soft leather and from the H&M Premium Collection (their Premium Collection is really great!) I guarantee that they will be a sell out pretty soon!

// BLACK & GREY //

What a summer we have had! I loved the heat and the warm evenings, wearing floaty dresses and getting that long awaited tan. Although I am not ready for the long winter months, I am quite keen to scroll though all the “NEW IN” sections and add items to my basket which are missing in my wardrobe. After a very colourful summer wardrobe, I find myself leaning towards black and grey at the moment. Here are some of my favourites from the high street. You will see I am repeating some items when outfit building (like the checked blazer), but this blazer is an investment piece, that will work very hard in your wardrobe.

A perfect black dress is so versatile. It’s an all year rounder that can be worn both dressed up and down. I’ve created two outfits here, one with trainers and a denim jacket for the day, and the other with heels and a blazer for the evening. The bag, scarf and mask can be worn with both options. (By the way, how beautiful is the print of this mask made by an independent UK based company https://theblack-company.com. I found it randomly scrolling through my Instagram feed and fell in love with their entire collection.) The silk scarf is another versatile piece, wear it as a belt, chocker around the neck, head piece, bracelet or attached to your bag. (I think I just talked myself into buying it…)

Leather shorts, bermuda shorts, city shorts – you name it….They were a big trend last year and by the looks of it, are definitely here to stay another season. Here are three short options I found and here are examples of how to wear them.

OFFICE:

EVENING:

CASUAL:

Wear this corduroy shirt as an oversized jacket.

Last but not least, my absolute must have wardrobe piece – wide leg trousers styled casual chic or day to night. I have added a boyfriend sweater as I just love the oversized look of the whole outfit softened down with jewellery, handbag and heels.

I hope you like my little selection. Leave a message and let me know what you would like me to talk about next week 🙂

// 5 EASY SUMMER LOOKS //

  1. I saw this skirt first on Junesixtyfive and fell in love with it. Its such a pretty and romantic skirt which just screams of summer. The pale blue mules and accessories pick up the shade of the flower print. The basket bag is a beautiful piece handmade by craftsmen in Ecuador and is reduced by 50% at the moment. I love this body top and have it in two different shades, white and a chocolate brown.

2. Lets continue the love for YELLOW…I own this dress and its gorgeous, I also bought those shoes and they are incredibly comfortable (tip: when buying high heels, make sure the heel is in the middle of your foot heel… does that make any sense???!!! then your shoes will always be comfortable). Picking up the purple colour with those beautiful earrings and I have used the same basket bag, because it does just fit perfectly here.

3. Fuchsia and orange – I have an endless love for this colour combination and think this outfit is just perfect for the summer! Do you prefer flats or heels here?

4. Linen trousers and zebra! I love the newest zebra print trend, but prefer it as an accessory! This bag is definitely on my wish list!

5. Little white dress! Another dress hanging in my wardrobe! The lace details are so pretty and the quality is amazing. Breaking up the romantic look of the dress with black accents makes it look more edgy.

I hope I could inspire you to some outfit ideas. Please comment below and let me know which one is your favourite, I would love to know!

Until next time…

// MELLOW YELLOW //

Hello Yellow! The colour of sunshine, happiness and lemons – yellow is such a fun shade to wear and designers are definitely not showing any signs of slowing down with it. From runways to street style, yellow was the colour that captured our attention most. Scroll down for runway and street style inspirations, followed by where to buy and how to style…

HOW TO WEAR YELLOW

THE DRESS

This dress is just an absolute summer dream! Wear dressed up or down!

THE JUMPER

I like to mix the colours fuchsia and mustard yellow. Both of them are such great colour pops and totally compliment each other. Wear the scarf as a head piece (here some ideas) or attached to the bag.

THE SKIRT

The cropped denim shirt makes this skirt look less dressy. Either of the bucket bags would look good here. And obviously some great minimalistic jewellery.

THE JACKET

I love this look and combination. Very subtle but quite effective. A lovely summer dream!

I hope you could get some inspirations and ideas. Please let me know your favourite combinations and tag me in any of your “mellow yellow” pictures on Instagram.

// MARC MIRREN DELIGHTS //

I love statement jewellery, I love fine jewellery, I love jewellery! It is like ice-cream, you can never have enough!

Most recently I discovered the Scandinavian brand Marc Mirren and fell in love with the minimalistic design and the story behind. A story of a grandad and grandson and the small red stone which features in every piece Marc Mirren creates. It is at one and the same time a reverent nod to his grandfathers unfulfilled dreams, and a celebration of their realisation at Marc’s own hands. As a ‘hobby’ jewellery designer myself, I appreciate how much work goes into designing and creating every single piece and I know that every little detail has its own story to tell…

Here are my favourite pieces. Be sure to use code torres15 for 15% off the entire collection for your first order for the next 80 days and until the 23rd of June you can buy 3 pieces for the price of 2!

VINTERGATAN COLLECTION – is a celebration to the constellations and stars.

PÄRLAN COLLECTION – focuses on the timeless elegance of pearls.

RED STONE COLLECTION – this is a tribute to the history, story and designers of the brand. I love this collection!

Happy jewellery shopping!

// LINEN LOVE //

Is there anything more refreshing and comfortable than linen clothing?!

Linen is a very strong and absorbent texture made out of fibres from the flax plant. Linen dries at a much faster rate than cotton, it is naturally anti-bacterial and is a good conductor of warmth therefore a popular fabric to use for clothing or bedding in the summer.

Scroll down to see some of my favourites and how to wear/style them…

  1. First one up – a linen-blend jumpsuit. The composition of this beautiful piece is linen and viscose, which means less ironing!!! Yessss! Mix it with a straw hat (which I own and love myself), a jute shopper and those absolute timeless Greek inspired leather strap sandals. Once we are allowed to travel again, you will take them on every single holiday, I promise! Add some colourful jewellery (here) and your outfit is ready!

2. The linen shirt! This Mao collar shirt is the perfect balance between casual and smart. Adding again the same flat sandals in brown, some quirky summer jewels and this gorgeous straw cross body bag. I love this sand tone inspired look!

3. Can we all please appreciate this linen dress (in both colours)!!! I would live all summer in it, dressed up and down…Here are my two options how I would wear it, but there are so many more…how would you wear it?

4. Linen trousers – how much fun is this pink colour! Here are a few options you could wear those linen-blend joggers with…If you don’t feel as brave, there are other colours available, too…

5. Linen shorts – my favourite piece in summer, especially worn as a suit. Below is my outfit I wore in Capri last year and I would jump into the same clothes without changing anything right now. I tried to recreate this look by adding some colourful accessories.

Capri, Italy 2019

I hope you liked my little selection. I would wear EVERYTHING right now. Which outfit is your favourite? Please comment below as I would really like to know.

PRETTY T’S

Oh, I do miss fashion. I know it is not the most important subject right now, but boy oh boy, do I miss it! I try to dress up at home, but change back into my “comfy” outfit literally 30 min later, because we go out and work in the garden or try to sort out the loft or or or and I just don’t want the clothes to be ruined…simply as that…

Anyway, I managed to sort out my wardrobe and realised that I need a couple of colourful easy going tops and T-shirts. So here are a few I have my eyes on right now…

Back to 1970s and the tie dye era! I fell for this bright T-shirt and ordered it for me. Cant wait to style it!
How would you name this colour? Berry-pink? Hot pink? Here is it called “cerise”. Which ever name you call it, it is definitely my favourite colour of the season! `Mix it with any other bright colour like orange or purple…

So very pretty! This Puff-sleeved V-neck tops come in different colours. Those two are my favourites for the summer!

NEW IN! and so very pretty! Broderie anglaise blouses can be very pricy. This is a beautiful piece for just under £20.
Dreaming of those summer evenings, dining somewhere in a local restaurant close to the beach and drinking a cool wine spritzer in this top and cream skirt…
Such a pretty top with these semi-sheered fabric puff sleeves.
This top screams for summer! Get 25% off full price with code SHOPNOW
This blouse reminds me so much of one of my beloved H&M tops – whenever I get it out, its hot and sunny outside…
Juice Lemon
Tropical Vibes – I own a couple blouses like this one from Mango and they are great! Perfect cut and lovely material.

I hope I could inspire you to some pretty tops and made you dream about those summer days and nights spend together with all our loved ones.

// WHAT TO DO WHEN THERE IS NOTHING TO DO //

What a strange time we are finding ourselves in! It’s a time where we are making memories as families, good and bad ones…and a time where history is written. The words Coronavirus and COVID-19 are the oficial new words added to the dictionary as of March 2020. One day, in many years when our grandchildren will study about Covid-19, it is our children who will tell on the stories how we spend time in lockdown. Our job is to make sure, they are lovely and happy stories…To quote one of my favourite books and authors, Charlie Mackesy: “The storm will pass.” (from The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse)

Now the “honeymoon period” of – yey, no school, no work, we can stay at home – is over, I hear more and more people saying that they are struggling with the monotony and boredom. However as a parent of small children, you probably don’t even have boredom in your dictionary. You do breakfast, tidy, TRY to work from home, prepare lunch and before you even finished tidying everything away in-between trying to referee between the kids, its already dinner time. I think we all found ourselves in a situation where we felt lost…lost in the day, week, time…And as mums we always try to be the balance scale and the good mood creator. Whenever I feel that my husband is getting a bit snappy, I send him out on a bike ride haha. I am telling you, I will need social distancing from my family including dog when this is all over…

In the meantime, like everybody else, I am trying to make the best out of the situation. We get up early, get dressed! (no pyjamas all day long days here), I even put a bit of mascara, blusher and jewellery on just to feel better. I exercise every day. It gets all the negative frustration out and just sets me for the day. We eat all our meals together which we absolutely enjoyed doing. And we go for long family walks, in the woods, in the South Downs or in fields.

I created a few to do lists (for myself, hubby and the kids) and everyone needs to do at least one job a day. On my to-do list I have for example:

ME:

  • clear out kitchen cupboards (declutter)
  • sort out the utility room.
  • clean oven, dishwasher, washing machine
  • clean windows upstairs & downstairs
  • sort out the girls wardrobes
  • sort out my wardrobe (declutter)
  • put away winter clothes
  • sort out my jewellery box
  • sort out our paper work, sort out kids pictures
  • finally sort all all the wedding pictures

HUBBY:

  • Clean under the stairs
  • Clear out shed
  • Clean car
  • get rid of garden weed
  • seed new grass seeds
  • sort out wardrobe
  • tidy the loft
  • build BBQ area
  • back up phones etc

The lists are endless with jobs which have been due for a long time and to be honest with you, I am a little scared it’s all going to be over to soon and those jobs will remain on the waiting list…To make it fun, we try to do different meal nights, Mexican night with nachos & fajitas, Indian night with a home-made curry or Italian night with pizza and pasta. It’s been fun and the girls love it. The sun is shining and so far we are all in good spirits. What is more important than this really?! And like my eldest daughter says: “the world is healing, Mummy!”

HAPPY FEET // YOUR MUST HAVE SHOE FOR SPRING

Is it Spring yet?! A question on everyone’s mind, that’s for sure! I personally can’t wait to replace all those chunky boots with sandals, mules & my all-time favourite, flip flops (can you ever have enough flip-flops…)?!

I am so excited about the 2020 shoe trend. As you might know, I love a monochrome and minimalistic look! I am also a sucker for bright, colourful outfit inspo! Blair Eadie is my number one inspiration when it comes to colour combination.

As Dior said, ‘You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes.’

Below is a variety of my favourite spring/summer shoes from candy-coloured mules a la Bottega Veneta to the most comfortable low heeled leather sandals.

  1. Each and every high street strutter and fashionista has lusted after the famous Bottega Veneta mules (left picture) #newbottega. Worn by every influencer and part of the street style outfit of the year. Daniel Lee, the designer behind the Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta is dominating the fashion industry. So many accessory trends of the moment, are taking their own cues from the designer house. No wonder so many high street shops are bringing out their version of his famous mule, including Next. I fell in love with this rather elegant Italian leather mule, the toes are square and appear effortlessly elegant. The heel hight is only 6.5cm, making them extremely comfortable.

2. Braided sandal straps are another big trend – probably the most worn and loved of all time, originating again from Bottega Veneta. I would much rather invest in an original and not the copy, but equally, I don’t want to take on a second mortgage to pay for a pair of shoes! Here are some great alternatives…

3. I definitely fell for these shoes! I just adore the colour and think those mules will dress up any denim outfit. The original (picture links) comes again from Bottega Veneta. Public Desire (middle picture) matched the colour and design almost perfectly. I prefer the H&M version (right picture) as they are from their premium quality range and I cant rave enough about their premium quality collection. The shoes are all so comfortable and the leather is super soft. The narrow foot strap makes the shoe more stable and comfortable on the foot.

4. Sandals – I live in sandals! Some of my sandal collection are over 10 years old and are still going strong! When investing in shoes, I generally look out for good quality and comfort. As a mother of two girls I don’t have time for sore feet, so here is my rainbow selection to wear on a daily basis…

I hope you enjoyed my little round up!

Keep save and happy!

MIDI DRESSES // TRANSITION INTO SPRING

With my curvy figure, I suit dresses best! I went through a phase of trying out anything what’s in fashion “right now” including the oversized look (ended up looking like a tent), crop tops (nah, lets not even start), skinny jeans, bootcut jeans, balloon sleeves and so on. The list is endless and often, I find myself standing in the changing rooms totally frustrated because it doesn’t sit or look right, trying to find faults on my own body…

I receive so many Instagram messages from women asking for fashion advice, and everyone says the same: “after having kids I have completely lost my style, I don’t know what to wear, what looks good and how to combine colours, so I end up wearing the same things again and again…”. My reply is always the same.. that the one piece of clothes which suits every single women is a dress! My wardrobe is full of the most beautiful easy dress up and down dresses and I must say that I also feel most “womanly” when I wear them.

To celebrate the International Women’s Day, here are some of my favourite dresses I found on the highstreet which you can wear with boots now and sandals in the summer…

This dress recently found a place in my wardrobe! Its form the H&M Trend collection (pale pink label). The colour mix is just stunning, I will be wearing mine with an oversized belt to mark the waistline.
Another gorgeous piece from the H&M Trend collection! It reminds me of my caftan I bought last year. It was my most worn piece of the summer. Here an IGTV how to style a caftan.

Love everything about those dresses, the extra long puff sleeves, the mesh, the print and the V-neck.

WOW! Just imagine: a big straw hat, a beach and a sunset! What a beautiful dress!!!
What a beautiful dress which can be worn dressed up and down. I totally would wear this dress to a wedding!
Such an easy to wear dress all year round, and it even comes with the belt!

I hope you enjoyed the little round up and found a favourite piece! And remember, clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them.

5 High Street shops // 5 outfits

From workwear to weekend wear, the High Street is booming with the most gorgeous pieces to get your transitional wardrobe in order. Scroll down to have a look at the five outfits I have created out of all the pieces that have caught my eye…

LOOK 1 – RIVER ISLAND

River Island is definitely right up there when it comes to pretty blouses. I tried to create a head to toe RI casual chic outfit, but I must admit that I had to cheat when it came to a matching handbag. I couldn’t find anything I liked on their website whereas Mango is just thriving with their handbag collection this season.

LOOK 2 – MANGO

Mango! Mango! Mango!

Can I just have your entire collection please!!! Absolutely loving everything. This outfit is one of many I see myself wearing. What I love most about it is, you can just style it up and down in so many ways…

LOOK 3 – TOPSHOP

Layering and boots is still a big topic as the weather frog has not been nice to us so far. I love Topshop dresses, they fit perfectly and they have the most stunning, never dating prints. This dress you could wear all year around, with boots, sandals, mules or trainers…

LOOK 4 – H&M

I have a soft spot for H&M! They are just always spot on when it comes to fashion, making it affordable for every pocket. You never feel too young or too old to wear H&M clothes. Here, I tried to recreate an outfit worn by one of my favourite fashion icons Nina Sandbech @ninasandbech. I had to cheat again with the bag (this time Zara), just because is does complete the look!

LOOK 5 – ASOS

I adore this dress and I do own this coat! I know, its nearly no coat season BUT this one just had be bought!!! Its gorgeous and brightens up any grey day!!!

MY TOP TEN LEATHER PICS // NEW SEASON FAVOURITES

I am pretty confident in saying that leather will never go out of style. Time goes on, but we always go back to those leather trousers, jackets, leggings, dresses, skirts and most recently tops, shirts and bermuda shorts. What is also new, are the colours. We don’t just see the usual black anymore but many bright colours like orange, red, turquoise or lilac too.

Scroll below for some outfit inspirations and all my top picks!

Below I am wearing my last years pleather shirt (which I bought a size to big) as a shacket with lots of layers underneath! Here is a very similar one from H&M.

NEON LOVE //

Get the glow with this years neon trend! Taking me back to my early 20s, a youthful, eye-catching, pop of colour trend. A bright colour will bring an instant smile to your face. For me it is reminiscent of the multicoloured windbreakers worn by Will Smith in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.

If we look at photographs from SS20 fashion week, it is clear that NEON is here to stay. From Valentino to Victoria Beckham.

SS2020

A pop of electric blue, hot pink, zesty orange, muted neon or lime green will definitely make you send out in the crowd. It can be difficult to style and achieve a mature, expensive and fashionable look with this colour palette. If you are unsure about how to style neon colours and don’t want to end up looking like a traffic light or 80’s raver! I recommend having one or two smaller key pieces; it can be a belt, hair accessories, jewellery, bag or footwear. Combine neon with neutral shades, such a cream, black, brown & white. Neon is very feminine and intriguing and will attract immediate attention! Below are some of my favourite shoppable neon picks.

Fancy ears // current earrings obsession

Jewellery – the exclamation point of every woman’s outfit!

For those of you who have known me for a while, you will know how much I adore statement jewellery.. I in fact even used to design, make and sell my own jewellery range. Jewellery has the ultimate power to be that one special thing that makes your whole outfit feel & look unique!

Below are my top 10 earrings I am obsessing over right now. Which one is your favourite?

LOOOOVE!
SO VINTAGE INSPIRED!
VALENTINE’S DAY READY
JUST SO CLASSY!
EARCANDY!
SO MUCH DETAIL! LOVE!
JUST WOW!!! ALSO COME IN A DIFFERENT COLOUR.
I AM SO READY FOR THE SUMMER!
OH YOU ARE SO PRETTY!
MONOCHROMATIC BRILLIANT!

THE M&S EDIT

I am sure that I am not the only one to say, that I literally can not wait for Spring!!! As we now officially said good bye to January, let’s see what Spring fashion has to offer us. I usually tend to scroll through the Scandinavian brands like H&M, COS, & Other Stories etc, but this week I decided to do a little M&S Edit, as I do love their clothes and the quality is often unbeatable.

Let’s start with tops and jumpers. Pastel colours are huge for Spring/Summer 2021 and this Square Neck Jumper ticks all colours and all boxes when it comes to comfortable but contemporary design.

Puff sleeves are still a big topic and this beautiful ivory jumper is just perfect to wear now or on colder summer nights with a lacy skirt – total boho vibes…(in my basket…)

Rollnecks – a total must have to wear as an under-layer or just like a top. Those colours are are bright and happy, but also come in more subtle and neutral shades here.

TROUSERS & SKIRTS

I love those hunter green trousers. A straight leg cut does suit most figures and this colour can be worn with so many different shades like red, pastels, neutrals, dark red, whites etc. If you struggle with colour combinations, I have created two board on my Pinterest called Colour Inspirations and Best Colour Combinations. They are great for outfit inspirations and I update them regularly.

Culottes and especially leather (faux or real) ones are still a big trend. I bought mine last year from Zara and love wearing them.

I don’t want to go too much into detail when it comes to Jeans, because I think everyone has a shop/brand preference when it comes to jeans, but these ones I would really recommend…

Here are a couple of skirts, great and neutral and easily worn! The (first) Midi Circle Skirt has even pockets – win win situation! Satin slip on skirts or dresses are by far my favourites. Combine the mustard skirt with a rust coloured knit jumper.

SHOES & HANDBAGS

All these colours please! What a beautiful and comfortable shoe! Combine the turquoise ones with a chocolate colour in form of dress or trousers or skirt like here.

Such a beautiful subtle and summery colour and slingbacks are simply a classic!

And obviously loafers…still big in fashion and will stay for a little while…

Some minimalistic and classic handbags!

I don’t know if it is because I am craving sun and sea, or if those pieces are just stunning, but pearls are all I want to see at the moment.

I hope you liked my little selection. Please comment below and let me know which ones are your favourite pieces and what you would like to see next.

//STRIPES//

If you follow me long enough, then you will know how much I love my Bretton top. Its my absolute basic piece which I wear with anything, plain trousers, jeans, flowery skirts etc. I got very excited when I saw more and more stripes appearing during my Instagram scrolls (does this sentence even make sense?!), as well as many street style bloggers wearing and styling stripes during the latest fashion shows. Hence, why we see so many stripy “New In” pieces in all the different online shops. Here are some inspiring street style outfits, followed by a selection from all my favourite high street stores. I hope I can inspire you to either restyle your old Bretton top or find your new favourite one in my edit.

//INSPIRED BY THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT//

The Queen’s Gambit – what a gorgeous, smart and well told story! If you haven’t watched it, then definitely do it. The story, the setting, the heartbreak, the costumes and a little travel back into the past. I truly enjoyed it and got inspired by the fashion so much, that I bought myself a check blazer 🙂

Here is a selection of my favourite check pieces or Queen’s Gambit inspired outfits I found on the high street.

  1. The Blazer

2. The WOW-Factor Cardigan!!!

3. The Coat

4. The dress

//COSY CHRISTMAS//

This Christmas will be slightly different in many ways. For me personally it means, that for the first time in my life sadly I will not be celebrating it with my parents and siblings…But hopefully this is the first and last Christmas we are celebrating apart and next year we can all be back together.

This year has also taken a financial toll on my of us, so I’ve created a couple of outfits for a cosy but chic Christmas but on budget and very affordable, let me know which one is your favourite.

  1. One piece – one outfit! I love jumpsuit and this one can be worn all year long, not just on Christmas.

2. Cosiness in a leggings! Start off the day in heels and change into ballerinas later. Again, all these clothing items you can wear all year around and some you might find in your wardrobe already.

3. If we can’t travel to Ibiza, lets bring Ibiza style into our living rooms with all those tassels and glitter. This one is probably my favourite outfit so far.

4. Christmas Jumper Alert! Tug the jumper in the skirt!

5. Christmassy but not glittery. This is a beautiful dress and could definitely become a staple piece in your wardrobe.

I hope I could inspire you to some outfits. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and hopefully a better and happier new year 2021. Stay safe and healthy.
